Well it's certainly been a whirlwind start to the New Year for us. For a number of reasons we've had a lot going on and some exciting projects bubbling away in the background. A lot of the groundwork for 2019 was being done in 2018 and we were really lucky to have a few visitors who came to the warehouse and wanted to help. One of those fantastic people was Vic Roberts - a real legend - who came, saw and fell in love with our work. She knows quite a few folks and immediately on leaving us one cold November day, she had set the wheels in motion for what turned out to be 'Re-Read in the Media week'!
You may have seen or heard us in the second week of January being filmed and interviewed by the BBC. Reporters came from Look North and Radio Sheffield to our warehouse at Marshgate and library in Denaby Main, capturing the central elements of our work. Everyone was great and it was lovely to meet new people and tell them our story.
After the airing of those interviews we have fielded lots of enquiries, schools and charitities who would like books, people who want to come and visit - you can imagine I'm sure.
Re-Read has also been busy with our book sales through the various online sellers we use such as Amazon and Biblio and we are continuing to sell through Etsy. Etsy is a wonderful site and does what it says in their strapline -If it’s handcrafted, vintage, custom or unique, it’s on Etsy.
We sell lots of things for crafting and home decor on there and it's great to know that even the most battered and ancient books can have another purpose!
